GEPAR Board Brief: August 21, 2026

The Greater El Paso Association of REALTORS® (GEPAR) Board of Directors met today, August 21, 2026, to review key updates regarding the association’s finances, membership, governance, upcoming initiatives, and community involvement.

Membership & Financial Update
The Board reviewed GEPAR’s financials and membership numbers for July 2026. During the month, 57 memberships were added, while 33 memberships were dropped, resulting in a positive net gain of 24 memberships.

2026 Shaping Texas Virtual Regional Caucus
The Board also participated in the 2026 Shaping Texas Virtual Regional Caucus Conference, which began at 9:00 a.m. The virtual caucus focused on the Texas REALTORS® Final Governance Proposals, which were developed through seven months of member input, surveys, and feedback.

Texas REALTORS® recently released an additional survey to members, which will close today. The results of that survey, along with the data presented during today’s caucus, will be reviewed by the Texas REALTORS® Executive Board on August 29.

During the caucus, Shy Rodriguez, Texas REALTORS® Regional Vice President, led the meeting as participants moved into Regional Breakout Rooms to discuss the governance proposals and provide additional regional input.

Upcoming Candidate Interviews

Following the caucus, the GEPAR Board meeting continued with Ernesto Garcia, Governmental Affairs Director, announcing the upcoming Candidate Interviews. The interviews are scheduled for September 9 and September 11, 2026.

Community Investment Committee: Healing Path Campaign

The meeting concluded with Stefanie Anderson, Community Investment Committee Chair, announcing the committee’s newest community project, the Healing Path Campaign.

The project aims to enhance the memorial located at Jim Crouch Park, creating an environmental path that will improve the park’s usability and encourage members of the public to visit and reflect at the memorial. The memorial was created following the August 3 Walmart tragedy as a place of remembrance for the community.

Those interested in supporting the Healing Path Campaign can make a donation through the Main Calendar at elpasotx.com.
